We’re going to Brisbane!

Quota Club KL will be represented at the 89th Quota International Convention in Brisbane, Australia from July 14-17, 2016.
The Convention will gather together all 270 clubs from 13 countries, and will discuss how Quotarians can better serve women, children, the deaf, hard-of-hearing, and the speech-impaired around the world in the future.

Three speakers will be speaking at this year’s Convention: the Founder of the Hear and Say Centre for Deaf Children, Dr Dimity Dornan; the Hon Justice Debra Mullins; and teacher of disadvantaged children Merron McEvoy. Click here to read why all three women are important to Quota, and how they inspire service.

This year’s Service-on-Site project will see Quota International partnering with the Combined Women’s Refuge Group to support women’s shelters for women and children victims of domestic violence. Representatives from the group will be at the Convention to receive our special ‘Buckets of Love’, which will contain essential items for the women and children they assist.

There will also be tours for every day of the Convention, beginning with a full-day tour to Cunningham’s Gap, then for Christmas in July at Mt Tambourine and a tour of Bee Gees Way, Bribie Island and The Abbey Museum.

Participants will also be able to visit the Hear and Say complex, the XXXX Ale House Brewery and finally the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. Partners and guests, meanwhile, will be able to visit the Tradecoast Central Heritage Park and experience Tattersall’s Race Day.

We’re also looking forward to dressing up for the Regional Party Night on July 16, and the Installation Dinner on the final day of the Convention.
